Prepare for Pandas4 API

This reacts to the following message: "Sorting by default when
concatenating all DatetimeIndex is deprecated.
In the future, pandas will respect the default of `sort=False`."
(We really want sorting there, but interesting to learn that we
relied on an inconsistant default there.)
