Adapt to set attrs (#223)

### What kind of change does this PR introduce?

* Fixes an issue with newer `xarray` that causes too many attribute
fields to be preserved between operations (`.normalize`).

### Does this PR introduce a breaking change?

No. This should be backwards-compatible as well.
