Refactor code to be more interactive with markdown elements (#5)

* Starting major refactor

* Fixing formatting to pass flake8

* Old unit tests removed, commented out all legacy code. starting over

* backing up old unit tests, adding new test cases for parser

* Adding beginning of test cases to validate good markdown
