fix: resolve linting issues in FilterFields function

- Fix early-return issues by separating variable declaration and condition check
- Fix appendAssign issue by using make() and copy() instead of append()
- Remove unused removeNestedFieldWithPreservation function
- All tests pass and linting is clean
