refactor: centralize config directory handling

- Add `github.com/adrg/xdg` dependency for XDG-compliant config paths
- Implement `GetConfigDir()` in `config.go` to centralize config directory logic
- Update `auth.go` to use `config.GetConfigDir()` instead of redundant code
- Add backup and recovery mechanisms for config file operations
- Improve logging and error handling in config management

This change improves cross-platform compatibility and adheres to the XDG Base Directory Specification, while reducing code duplication and improving maintainability.
