Commit Message

Properly display components made with the API.

There was a bit of unexpected behavior occuring between the component
entity and the component selector, where a component which had been
created in the api didn't get bootstrapped correctly into the format
which the component selector looked for.  This commit provides some
sensible defaults in order to fix that behavior.
