With collections aggregators, we can't rely on a unique default mutable collection being created every time.  Therefore, instead, make the collections aggregator based on a general collection, but use a mutable collection where possible - and make the default immutable, so as to guarantee that the conversion to mutable will happen whenever elements are added, thereby preventing multiple bins from getting the same values because of re-use of the non-unique default case.
