Fix bug when hierarchically clustering a single input sequence

This bug causes CATCH to crash and would have appeared, on older
versions of CATCH, when using clustering options with just one input
sequence. More recently, since the default clustering method has changed
to not be the hierarchical method, it would only appear when specifying
`--cluster-and-design-separately-method hierarchical`.
