router: Replace 'null' rule for wildcard

As stated in #162, the wildcard rule feature renders the 'null' rule
completely useless.

 - it's much clearer and intuitive to use "*" for anything
 - "*" is less characters than 'null'

Update the tests to cover the wildcard instead.
