* convert str -> ints in unittest

* Expand classes to do input validation and offer multiple output formats

This commit adds input validation to the 2 new classes and also adds
methods to get the dictionaries with hex or bin key outputs (the default
representation is with int keys).

* Fix lint and add missing test file
