refactor: implement template using incremental DOM

- Replace hand-coded DOM logic with Google incremental DOM, using superviews.js as the source template.
- Fix inconsistencies in the configuration options.
- Comment out i18n from the documentation. This feature is still available but should not be useduntil the Google translate translations are replaced with real translations.
