Refactor SimulationRunner: break it down into different classes

Also simplify the simulate_in_parallel method usage by not requiring a view to
be passed.

In case of parallel simulation, use the cloudpickle library if it is available
for improved pickling (which means that more constructs can work with the
`simulate_in_parallel` method)
