unbreak test broken by stdlib change

swallowjson uses stdlib `encoding/json` for tokenization and a change
somewhere broke a message being passed back by trimming a trailing space
which we we explicitly matching against.

It worked in Go 1.10, it broke by Go 1.12.  Change the test to handle
either variant.
