Makefile.exports was originally introduced with Kbuild build system. That
functionality was regressed after switching to CMake, and had to be
&amp;quot;emulated&amp;quot; on 3rd-party application side, exposing internals of Zephyr&amp;#39;s
CMake build system to the application side, which is of course fragile as
the may and do change.

Now, support to generate Makefile.exports is part of the core Zephyr build
system, which allows to simplify integration with it largely.
