Commit Message

Don't crash on special characters. (#14)

- Also added a try-except on the split and merge methods that log input
  data on exception
- improved on_exc handling during merge (KEEP_ORIGINAL) would not work
  because group would filter out the exception data.
- Handle everything as unicode.

- extra None handling - don't crash but handle it.
