Further changes as part of pull request.

Tests use pytest's tmpdir fixture instead of mocking the open call itself.

Validate output log messages have been condensed to single messages.
Main has been updated to test all provided recipes and only report failures, but report *all* of them. Possibly this now requires some further testing to make sure it catches all of them?
