Fix serialization

Okay, this requires some explanation. First, serialization was broken as eb3068d
didn't take into account that the `read`/`write` now gets a dict of *tables*!
Thus, serialization never actually run. Second, the test didn't catch that as
it used the `MemoryStorage` which can handle each and any object it receives.
Both points now have been fixed.
