Merge branch 'no_smartdict'

Motivation:
Simplify organization of typesem.Table.

Changelog:
* Replace Smartdicts with ordinary dicts and use simple strings as keys.
* Create an error class to encapsulate error reporting for undefined
  constructors.
* Follow Python guidelines for naming arguments and variables.
* Drop Smartdicts from the project.
