Change HTTP adapter as Net::HTTP unconditionally tries idempotent HTTP requests twice

See https://github.com/lostisland/faraday/issues/774 and https://github.com/ankane/the-ultimate-guide-to-ruby-timeouts/issues/8.

Unbelievable that it does this unconditionally.  Saying that, including a new HTTP library seems overkill.
