Collecting local variables.

Resolves #9.

The coverage statistics is wrong here. The functions that are not covered are *definitely* covered in callbacks, or the entire thing wouldn't work.

The code revealed another issue: if we define and call local functions, the call callback mechanism raises a warning. See #24.
