Make sure `vmin` and `vmax` match the input's type

Ensure that `vmin` and `vmax` are NumPy-style scalars. This means that
if they are Dask array values, they will be computed and converted to
NumPy-style scalars. Also ensure that they are converted to the same
type as the input image data's type.
