Streamline and improve releasing and testing (#202)

* Added conda package building and uploading.
* Added python package (sdist+universal wheel) building and uploading.
* Enabled testing on Windows via Appveyor.
* Added testing in multiple environments (with/without various dependencies).
* Added testing of the python package as distributed to users rather than only testing as developer.
* Fixed display of warnings during tests.
* Minor updates to README, including coverage badge.
* Reduced platform-specific travis code; same commands can be run locally as on CI.
