Standardise the ngram search API + upper_pagination key for attributes

The search_ngrams method is replaced by filter_ngrams, and has a
consistent API with the rest of the filter* methods.

Add the upper_pagination_key for the _filter_attributes method,
so we can apply snapshot consistency for all search functions.
