Abstract eventing behind interface. Fix issue where synchronous events sent asynchronously (#601)

- Fix potentially serious issue where events that were supposed to be sent synchronously were instead sent asynchronously
- Abstract all eventing behind a simple GenieEventBus interface to abstract details and complexity of which backend mechanism to use
- Clean up bean configurations to make wiring more explicit
