Extracted logic to separate function, fixed test

Tests were failing because explode() behaviour returns an array with an empty string when it parses an empty string. This results in a header that ends with "," - although browsers can deal very well with this formatting error, I thought it wise to not rely on browsers fixing formatting mistakes.
