Commit Message

Sync blocks in pipeline after initialization

- Makes blocks wait for all other blocks to finish initializing before
  beginning data processing. This ensures there are no race conditions
  between dependent blocks when opening the first sequence.
- This also catches any exceptions raised during initialization, and
  gracefully shuts down the pipeline if so.
