optional: Use strconv.ParseBool (#84)

Instead of an exact match on "yes" and "true", we now use
`strconv.ParseBool` to determine if the `optional:".."` value is true or
false. This is more standard plus it gives us a more detectable failure
mode for when the value is invalid.
