Solved #1 - modified path to json to be dynamic

Fetches the system variable XDG_DATA_HOME if it exists, using it as root folder to put data files in. If it does not exist, it will use a standard path from XDG on non-windows, on windows it will use the LOCALAPPDATA folder.
