Truncate to first nul byte when creating C strings

The Morrowind plugin description field has a fixed size, so content is
nul-padded, and plugin authors sometimes use a nul byte prefix to embed
data that should not be interpreted by the game (e.g. for
fingerprinting). As such, don't error when encountering such strings.
