Polish: contiguous spill filenames, plain-English Returns, 0.7.6 (#31)

- Number spill files by load order (len(spill_paths)) instead of
  the sample_sheet index, so a skipped sample doesn't leave a gap
  like sample_0000, sample_0002 in the temp dir.
- Replace "iff" in the Returns docstring with prose to keep the
  contract readable without mathematical shorthand.
- Bump version to 0.7.6 for this bug-fix release.
