perf: improve error reporting in column_scan test

If a test case fails (for example, because the tested engine doesn't
support the Arrow API), the test script exits without any coherent
error message, which is confusing. One may still check the logs but it
isn't really convenient. Let's print the error to stderr, too.

Also, let's enable verbose serialization of errors because it presents
some useful information, such as the line in the code where the error
was triggered.
