after the attempt with installing with uv, as recommended by Sherjeel was certainly working on his computer but did not so in the container, I moved to inspecting whether Bruker might provide other means of shipping their software, given that the generic nionswift container is not meant to make excessive customizations for specific groups anyway, I tried with the Bruker provided Linux AppImage and unpacking this in the container and registring a link, this works seamlessly, upon first startup a project is created, for now I removed the code that Sherjeel back in 2022 introduced to use an existent project
